At Brillantmont the average class size is 12.
Thus, the students have very close contact with their teachers and benefit greatly from the attention they receive. Our qualified, experienced teachers are innovative and demanding and challenge each student to achieve his / her full potential.
Students’ grades are recorded in a“live” gradebook which is available on the private area of our website, accessible by parents and students thanks to a password. Each piece of work or class contribution can be seen, as well as the student’s running yearly average, whilst for sports classes an appreciation grade is given. Periodically, these grades determine which students figure on our Honour Roll, which rewards academic consistence as well as effort. Also available is the daily class register, the student’s homework for the day, the course outlines and the term reports.
We want parents to be involved in their child’s education, despite the often long distances separating them from the school.
A support system is in place to assist students who are having difficulties academically. More emotional or health-related issues can be discussed with our school nurse who also leads classes in Personal Social and Health Education, which are compulsory for every student.
All classes are taught in English and extra support in English is given to those who need it. Brillantmont is in the heart of French-speaking Switzerland and all students must learn French. They are encouraged to use French in the school community and outside of school in the contacts they have locally.
100% of our graduating class continue to further education after leaving Brillantmont.
