Brillantmont International School - Lausanne Switzerland since 1882

Victoria Sangster

Brillantmont student from 1993 to 1996

“I arrived at Brillantmont in the September of 1993 as my family had moved over from the UK.  My Mother always laughs as she says I cried all the way to Switzerland and I cried all the way back.  I can honestly say it was a life changing experience and I was devastated to have to move back to the UK.  I would be a very different person if I had not attended Brillanmont.  I was given the opportunity to do my A – Levels and IGCSEs in 3 years instead of 4 and my teachers were greatly supportive of me.  I learnt that it if I worked and studied hard, I could achieve my goals and I have Brillantmont to thank for that lesson which has served me well in the rest of my life.

After I left Brillanmont I went to University in London at Goldsmiths College where I studied English and History for 3 years.  After my degree, my first job was working at a small media agency working on advertising strategy and negotiation.  I have now worked in the Advertising industry for just over 10 years and currently work for MediaCom, the UKs largest media agency as an Associate Director providing advertising and communication solutions to our clients.

Over the years I have worked on many international brands including Fererro, Schwarzkopf, Boots and most recently E.ON.  The campaigns I have been involved with have been as diverse as launching a new flavour of Kinder Bueno,  to an IPA award winning campaign designed to  reduce assaults in London due to illegal mini cabs.

I have now lived in London for 13 years and recently got married.  I visit Lausanne every few years and I came over a few years ago for the 120th anniversary of the school.  The explosion of social networking sites has also meant I have been able to get back in touch with many of my old school friends who are now all scattered around the world.

I look back with very happy memories of my time at Brillantmont and I am very grateful for the opportunity I had to attend such a wonderful school.”
